Carbon Poker

Powered by Action Poker, which also includes clients such as Tiger Gaming, as well as the bizarrely named Holy Cow Poker and my personal favourite Crybaby Poker, Carbon Poker isn’t the biggest poker room in the world, but does offer something different.
The first difficulty I encountered was actually downloading the software. I’m running Windows XP and I have got used to the annoying Active X bar which I have to click to allow downloads, but I actually went round in circles for a few minutes before I managed to get the software download to actually start. The bizarre twist was then that although the download informed me I was downloading Carbon Poker software, it actually installed the Tiger Gaming Client! Figuring out it didn’t really matter as the rooms were running on the same network, but it did strike me as a little strange that Carbon Poker – a company with over 10 years experience in the online gambling market, hadn’t gotten around to re-branding their poker client.
The games offer something a little different from the standard Texas Holdem and Omaha, offering in addition Guts Poker, Chinese, Poker, PAN and Big 2. Unfortunately there isn’t much action on the site, off peak there was only 48 active tables and 674 players online. However, unlike many poker rooms, there is no shortage of higher stakes players here, the low stakes tables are very sparsely populated with much of the action centring on $5 and above. Surprisingly the $300 stakes tables were almost full, so this site definitely attracts players with healthy bankrolls.
New players are welcomed with a very attractive opening offer – a 100% match poker bonus on your first deposit – with no maximum bonus. However in order to release the bonus into your real account you will need to earn 12 POP points for every dollar deposited. POP points are Carbon Poker’ loyalty program and you have 45 days from the day of your deposit in order to qualify for the full bonus amount. Pop points can either be used to qualify for bonuses or exchanged instantly for cash.
